Urban agriculture is as inclusive as any other type of agriculture, but is distinguished by where it is located (urban vs. rural). Urban agriculture operations may be privately, publicly, or commercially owned, and manifest in a number of forms, including:
- households, school gardens. community gardens, urban farms;
- backyard chicken coops, backyard beehives;
- aquaculture, hydroponics facilities, aquaponics facilities; and
- rooftop farms, vertical farms, indoor farms.
MarCo will facilitate networking between existing services and urban agriculture projects will help leverage resources and overcome barriers. We have developed a comprehensive resource guide for individuals interested in engaging with urban agriculture, which will posted in Spring 2018.
