Maricopa County Food System Coalition

Mission: To support and grow a food system in Maricopa County that is equitable, healthy, sustainable, and thriving.

We are a voluntary community organization advocating for the regeneration and advancement of the local food system here in Maricopa County, Arizona. We focus on innovative and collaborative solutions to issues regarding the local food system.  To learn more about our current projects, visit our Work Groups and Committees page.

Our local food system includes: growing, harvesting, processing, packaging, transporting, selling, eating, recycling and composting, considering how each affects the community, the environment, and the economy.

Our Coalition is made up of a broad cross section of members interested in improving the food system in the County. The group includes representatives from agriculture, health, access, processing, community, and government. We are in the midst of a one-year formation process designed to create a strong body able to assess community needs and advocate for change.
