The Education and Engagement Work Group focuses on developing the messaging and tools needed to make positive change to our community food system. The work group evolved from the Food Assessment Coordination Team (FACT), which led development of the first Comprehensive Community Food Assessment for Maricopa County.

In late 2019, FACT transitioned into the Education and Engagement Work Group in order to help the coalition share key takeaways of the food assessment with the broader community. This includes where our food system is working well, and where improvement is required to better serve the needs of farmers, eaters, and the networks that link the two.

Current Activities

  • Developing consistent messaging and branding across the Coalition
  • Disseminating Food Assessment reports and key findings
  • Creating and sharing Food Assessment Roadshow materials in collaboration with the Policy Work Group

  • Supporting action to build social connectivity, collaboration, and awareness around community food
